North East Humanists  Funerals
A Humanist funeral provides a dignified opportunity for people to celebrate a life as well as to share their grief. It can take place at a crematorium, a cemetery or at a woodland burial ground. Music, readings, and tributes to the person who has died can all be included.

Officiants are trained and accredited by the British Humanist Association. On receiving a request to conduct a non-religious funeral he/she will visit the family to help them decide exactly how they would like the ceremony to reflect the life of the person concerned. The officiant will then write the tribute and plan the event to ensure that all of the contributions fit smoothly into the whole ceremony.
Extracts from some of the many thank-you messages we have received are:

" There could not have been a finer and more fitting tribute to her than the most moving way you told her story......"

" Thank you for the care and consideration you put into the writing and delivery of your address last Friday"

" Can I just say - as a practising Christian - that this was quite the most moving funeral I have ever attended."

" Thank you from the bottom of my heart....your thoughts and words were a joy to me"

Funeral officiants in the North East cover an area from Alnwick in the North,
to Teesside in the South, and to Hexham in the West.
